Malcesine at a glance

Malcesine is the northernmost town on the Veneto side of Lake Garda, in the province of Verona. Its centre is a small harbour with a castle above it, and narrow lanes climb the slope behind. The mountain of Monte Baldo rises behind the town, and the cable car runs up from Malcesine.

Most visitors do two things: climb the tower of the castle and ride the cable car. Both close or change their hours in late autumn, so the dates below matter if you travel after October.
